Role Name: Business Development Representative

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm Eastern with an hour unpaid break

A growing food product company is making a strategic pivot from direct-to-consumer sales into retail partnerships across the United States. This expansion represents a critical growth phase as they transition from online-only sales to establishing relationships with brick-and-mortar retailers nationwide.

Job Description: 

You’ll spearhead the retail expansion strategy for an innovative food company during their most exciting growth phase. This role puts you at the center of a strategic business transformation, where your outreach efforts directly translate into in-person retailer meetings and potential partnerships. You’ll be working closely with the founder who will be conducting a dedicated US retail tour from January to March, making every appointment you set immediately actionable and impactful.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct targeted cold email campaigns to identify and engage potential retail partners
  • Research and build comprehensive databases of qualified retail prospects across the US market
  • Develop compelling outreach strategies and partnership proposals tailored to different retailer segments
  • Set and coordinate high-quality appointments between retailers and the founder during field visits
  • Build and maintain an active pipeline of retail prospects with detailed tracking and follow-up
  • Create persuasive offers and partnership packages that resonate with retail decision-makers
  • Support the founder’s field operations by ensuring a steady stream of qualified meetings
  • Analyze outreach performance and optimize campaigns based on response rates and conversion metrics

Requirements:

  • Proven track record in business development with demonstrable results from previous roles
  • Strong experience in B2B cold email outreach with measurable success metrics
  • Excellent written communication skills for professional, persuasive outreach
  • Experience in retail partnership development, food industry, or similar B2B sales preferred
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently and manage multiple campaigns simultaneously
  • Results-oriented mindset with ability to showcase past achievements and ROI
  • Bonus if you have experience with retail buyer outreach or food product placement
