Certified Bookkeeper/Accounting Assistant
Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Certified Bookkeeper / Accounting Assistant to support day-to-day accounting operations. This role is ideal for a professional with strong accounting fundamentals, hands-on AP/AR experience, and the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced, remote environment.
You will play a key role in ensuring financial transactions are recorded correctly, reconciliations are completed on time, and payment processes run smoothly, while collaborating closely with the Controller and CFO.
Responsibilities:
- Enter accounts receivable receipts and process customer payments (50-100 transactions per week with varying complexity)
- Process accounts payable invoices and verify EDI-connected transactions against system expectations
- Set up weekly payment batches for management approval (15-20 payments per week)
- Perform account reconciliations on a regular basis
- Record day-to-day financial transactions accurately and timely
- Support month-end processes and financial reporting
- Verify EDI amounts agree with expected system postings before processing
- Assist with special projects as assigned by Controller and CFO
Requirements:
- Certified bookkeeper with solid accounting fundamentals
- MUST HAVE A WINDOWS OS COMPUTER
- 3-5 years of experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable processing
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or similar)
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV/Navision/Business Central preferred (or willingness to learn)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Excellent English communication skills
- Ability to handle varying transaction volumes and seasonal fluctuations
- Experience with EDI systems and integrations is a plus
