OVERVIEW
Full Time Role, minimum of 40 hours per week
Operating Hours: 6PM-6AM PST, Monday-Sunday. The schedule of the dispatchers will be discussed by the client during the interview
The Dispatcher After-Hours is a key role providing both Traffic Control to our Clients and assisting our Finance department. The Dispatcher After-Hours works with the day Dispatchers to book in projects and work orders for Clients in various industries including construction, paving and utility. The Dispatcher After-Hours assists Clients and Field Team Members during evening hours and weekends, including statutory holidays. This role also performs data entry.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
DISPATCHER
- Answer calls and emails from Clients and Field Team
- Meet Client requirements for Traffic Control, information, issues and safety concerns
- Assess current and future dispatch requirements to ensure adequate Field Team coverage
- Contact Clients for additional Traffic Control needs to maximize Field Team
- Reassign Field Team as required (ex. time-off requests, sick days, no-shows, Client needs, Field Team skills)
- Utilize Sub-Contractors to meet the needs of Clients when necessary
- Communicate with Clients, Field Team & Operations in a timely-manner
- Analyze dispatch program dashboard for optimization and prepare reports
- Understand and utilize Traffic Management Plans to ensure accurate dispatch
- Solve issues or conflicts quickly and professionally ensuring decision-making is based on United Traffic’s mission, vision and core values
- Escalate issues or conflicts to Operations when necessary
- Perform various admin duties including data entry (ex. new hires & clients) into dispatching program
- Maintain Client, Sub-Contractor and Field Team databases including TCP Certificate expiries
- File dispatch program reports and forms, communicate findings with Operations
- Relay to and gather information from Field Team (ex. reminders, information, changes, weekend availability)
- Report any abuse or policy violations to Operations
- Support the Health & Safety program
- Redirect all other enquiries to the appropriate department (ex. media enquiries)
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by Operations
AFTER-HOURS
- Answer calls and emails during evening hours and weekends, including statutory holidays
- Other data entry as assigned by Operations
