Job Overview

Our client is looking for a dedicated Medical Billing & Insurance Verification Specialist to play a crucial role in the revenue cycle of a mental health practice that’s making a real difference in people’s lives. This position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge billing technology while developing specialized expertise in mental health billing. You’ll work independently in a supportive remote environment where your skills will directly impact the practice’s ability to serve more patients effectively.

Client Overview

A growing mental health private practice group with multiple locations dedicated to providing quality therapeutic services. They use modern integrated clearinghouse and EHR systems that automate much of the billing process, and they’re expanding their remote workforce to build a more efficient and scalable operation.

Schedule

  • Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM EST, with 1 hour unpaid break (40 hours per week)

Responsibilities

  • Apply CPT codes accurately for mental health services and ensure proper coding compliance
  • Create and submit insurance claims with appropriate modifiers for mental health treatments
  • Process claim payments through integrated clearinghouse and EHR systems
  • Conduct insurance verifications and eligibility checks for patients
  • Handle collections activities for outstanding accounts and follow up on unpaid claims
  • Manage claim denials and appeals process to maximize reimbursements
  • Communicate with insurance companies via phone during business hours
  • Monitor and process claims through automated systems while handling exceptions manually

Requirements

  • Proven experience in medical billing with strong understanding of CPT codes and billing procedures
  • Excellent English communication skills for phone interactions with insurance companies and patients
  • Experience with insurance verifications, collections, and claim processing
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a remote environment
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection (minimum 25 MBPS wired)
  • Personal computer with minimum i3 processor and 8GB RAM

Qualifications

  • Mental health billing experience or familiarity with integrated EHR/clearinghouse systems is a significant advantage
