Job Overview
Our client is seeking a Senior Bookkeeper (Office Administrator) to support a boutique accounting firm based in Perth, Western Australia. This full-time remote position blends core bookkeeping responsibilities (80%) with essential office administration duties (20%). You will be the operational backbone of the firm, managing internal accounts, client invoicing, and correspondence while ensuring the seamless integration of Xero's practice management tools. A boutique accounting firm providing comprehensive financial services, including audit for superannuation funds and company secretarial services. The team consists of a partner, a manager, and a dedicated group of accountants and contractors who value precision and proactive communication.

Responsibilities
- Internal Bookkeeping: Manage bank reconciliations, invoicing, and bills processing for the firm.
- Practice Management: Utilize Xero Practice Manager (XPM) to manage timesheets, track work-in-progress (WIP), and handle job creation.
- Client Invoicing: Process invoices using Xero Blue and ensure smooth data integration between XPM and the accounting platform.
- Correspondence Management: Handle incoming communications from the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) and general client inquiries, routing technical matters to the appropriate staff.
- External Support: Provide bookkeeping and payroll processing support for select client accounts as required.
Requirements
- Industry Tenure: 5–8 years of professional bookkeeping experience with a strong grasp of Australian accounting practices.
- Xero Mastery: Advanced proficiency in Xero Practice Manager (XPM), including job generation and invoice management.
- Platform Integration: Solid experience with Xero Blue and a deep understanding of how it integrates with XPM.
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal English skills for professional correspondence.
- Organizational Skills: High level of attention to detail and the ability to manage administrative workflows independently.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working within an accounting or professional services firm is highly preferred.
- Experience with Business Activity Statement (BAS) preparation and lodgement is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with Australian payroll processing and superannuation requirements.

This is a permanent work-from-home role under an Independent Contractor arrangement.
