A commercial construction company specializing in building envelope design and installation services. The company focuses on commercial roofing, siding, and exterior cladding for commercial and government buildings.

JOB OVERVIEW

This is a junior-level estimator position starting part-time at 20 hours per month for the first month, with potential to transition to full-time (35-40 hours per week). The role involves performing detailed material takeoffs and supporting estimation processes for commercial building projects. The successful candidate will work remotely using cloud-based estimation software and collaborate directly with project leadership.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform detailed material takeoffs from architectural plans and specifications using PlanSwift software. Measure and count amounts and types of materials required for commercial building envelope installations. Process and organize project documents using Adobe Acrobat Reader and Excel. Support system design appropriateness assessments based on provided building plans and specifications. Learn and apply document processing workflows using AI tools as directed.

MUST-HAVE REQUIREMENTS

• 1 to 2 years of experience in estimation, construction, or related field.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data organization and analysis.

• Strong attention to detail for accurate material counting and measurement.

• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.

• Comfortable learning new software platforms with provided training.

NICE-TO-HAVE REQUIREMENTS

• Prior experience with PlanSwift or similar estimating software.

• Background in commercial construction or building envelope systems.

• Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat for document management.

• Experience using AI tools for document processing.

Side Note: Since this is a permanent work-from-home position and the arrangement is that of an “Independent Contractor,” the selected candidates must have their own computer and internet connection. They will handle their own benefits and taxes. The professional fees are on hourly rates and the rate depends on your performance in the application process.
