Job Description:
You’ll be the creative force behind elevating this media company’s video production from good to exceptional. Working directly with the founder, you’ll help shape both the content and the processes that drive their documentary and video projects. This isn’t just about editing—you’ll be instrumental in developing workflows, refining production standards, and contributing to the overall content strategy as the company scales.
Client Overview:
A growing media production company specializing in documentary content and scaling its video capabilities. They’re moving beyond basic editing to create more sophisticated, professional-grade content while developing streamlined production workflows. The work is dynamic and project-driven, offering variety and creative challenges in a collaborative environment.
Schedule:
- Mondays to Fridays, 6:00 am to 1:00 pm (US Eastern Time)

Responsibilities:
- Edit video content with a focus on documentary-style production and professional storytelling
- Collaborate directly with leadership to develop and optimize video production workflows
- Elevate content quality from basic editing to sophisticated, professional-grade output
- Handle backend administrative tasks related to video production and project management
- Support marketing functions and content strategy as needed
- Maintain flexibility for weekend work based on project pipeline demands
- Provide portfolio examples and work samples during the selection process
- Contribute to process development and operational improvements
- Manage multiple projects in a dynamic, sometimes unpredictable work environment
Requirements:
- Proficiency in professional video editing software (beyond basic tools like CapCut or Canva)
- Strong experience with documentary-style video editing and storytelling techniques
- Portfolio or reel demonstrating professional video editing capabilities
- Ability to work collaboratively in developing new processes and systems
- Flexibility to handle administrative and light marketing tasks alongside core editing work
- Bonus if you have experience in media or content production environments
- It helps if you’re comfortable with project-based, dynamic work environments
- Bonus if you have experience working directly with founders or small teams
