E-commerce Assistant - Shopify Product Data Management

Job Overview

This is a long-term virtual assistant position focused on Shopify product data entry and backend inventory management. The role involves uploading and maintaining approximately 10,000 wine product SKUs with detailed product information, descriptions, and professional reviews. After the initial upload phase, you will provide ongoing daily maintenance to track new vintages and update inventory as products evolve. Our client is looking for a meticulous professional who can transform raw data into a premium shopping experience while scaling the catalog from 600 to 10,000 items.

Client Overview

The client operates a growing online e-commerce platform specializing in premium wine sales. They are currently in a significant expansion phase, aiming to massively increase their product catalog to attract a wider customer base and improve market reach. They value precision and consistency in how their products are presented to their discerning clientele.

Schedule

  • Monday - Friday, 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM AEST, with 30 minutes unpaid break (40 hours per week)

Responsibilities

  • Catalog Management: Upload and manage product information for up to 10,000 SKUs in Shopify backend administration, including names, vintages, and varieties.
  • Product Research: Gather missing product information from supplier websites and wine critic reviews to ensure complete and professional listings.
  • Content Enhancement: Input detailed product descriptions and professional reviews to improve the customer experience and SEO performance.
  • Vintage Tracking: Monitor and track new wine vintages as they become available and update the catalog proactively.
  • Inventory Maintenance: Perform daily backend inventory checks to ensure accurate availability and pricing.
  • SEO Coordination: Collaborate with the SEO team to track quantity updates and new SKU requirements as vintages change.
  • Quality Control: Follow strict guidelines for product display preferences and formatting standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience working with the Shopify platform.
  • Proven background in e-commerce operations and strong understanding of e-commerce terminology.
  • Exceptional data entry skills with high attention to detail for repetitive tasks.
  • Strong online research skills to gather information from various supplier sources.
  • Reliability and the ability to work independently during AEST business hours.

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with wine industry terminology and vintage classifications (Preferred).
  • Experience conducting online research for high-volume SKU management (Preferred).

Side Note

This is a permanent work-from-home role under an Independent Contractor arrangement. Candidates must have their own computer and reliable internet connection, and are responsible for their own taxes and benefits. Professional hourly fees are established based on your performance in the application process.
