Roles and Responsibilities for a Data Entry Specialist:
Accurate Data Entry and Record Management
- Enter and update client tax-related information, financial documents, and other required data into the company’s database with high precision.
- Maintain organized records of all tax documents, forms, and client correspondence.
- Review source documents to ensure the accuracy of entered data and cross-check information for inconsistencies or errors.
- Perform routine audits on data sets to ensure completeness and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Handle sensitive client financial information with strict adherence to confidentiality policies and data security protocols.
- Follow company guidelines for storing and securing documents to prevent unauthorized access.
- Work closely with tax preparers, accountants, and other team members to clarify discrepancies or missing information.
- Communicate effectively with clients when additional documentation or clarification is needed.
- Meet deadlines for entering and processing tax data to ensure timely completion of client filings.
- Prioritize and manage multiple data entry tasks to support peak tax season demands.
- Utilize data entry software, accounting platforms, and tax preparation tools efficiently.
- Troubleshoot basic issues with data systems and escalate more complex technical challenges when necessary.
- Ensure data entry and documentation adhere to local, state, and federal tax regulations.
- Maintain awareness of changes in tax codes that may impact data entry requirements or processes.
Requirements
At least 2 years data entry exp and some exp working with tax or accounting firm a plus but not required.
