As a Senior Bookkeeper, you’ll play a crucial role in revamping and maintaining the financial records of this thriving trucking enterprise. Your primary focus will be on cleaning up 2-3 years of historical data and establishing efficient bookkeeping processes using QuickBooks. This challenging position requires a detail-oriented professional with strong reconciliation skills and a deep understanding of American bookkeeping practices. - Perform comprehensive reconciliations using QuickBooks for multiple business entities
- Lead the cleanup and organization of 2-3 years of historical financial records
- Implement and maintain robust bookkeeping processes aligned with American accounting standards
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks across various growing businesses within the organization
- Prepare accurate, timely financial reports to support decision-making and growth strategies
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records, ensuring high accuracy in all transactions
- Collaborate with management to streamline financial operations and improve efficiency
Requirements
- Proven experience in American bookkeeping practices, particularly in the trucking industry or multi-entity businesses
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks and strong reconciliation skills
- Meticulous attention to detail with a track record of maintaining high accuracy in high-volume transaction environments
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting
- Strong problem-solving skills and proactive approach to identifying and resolving financial discrepancies
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with remote team members
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and potential scope expansion, including possible future Canadian bookkeeping needs
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
