Job Description
As the Bookkeeper, you’ll be at the helm of our client’s financial operations, steering a small but mighty accounting team through an exciting period of growth. This role offers a unique blend of hands-on financial management and strategic oversight. You’ll leverage your expertise in QuickBooks Online to streamline processes, ensure financial accuracy, and drive operational efficiency. From managing day-to-day transactions to providing critical financial insights, your work will directly impact the company’s success and expansion.
Responsibilities
- Perform timely bank and credit card reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy
- Prepare and file HST reports, ensuring compliance with tax regulations
- Oversee the invoicing process, maintaining a swift 24-48 hour turnaround time
- Manage cash flow strategically, balancing incoming payments and outgoing expenses
- Execute critical financial tasks such as large check issuance and payment oversight
- Collaborate with external accountants on year-end financial processes
- Implement and refine financial controls to safeguard company assets
- Provide insightful financial reporting to support decision-making
- Contribute to the company’s growth strategy through financial analysis and recommendations
Requirements
- 5+ years of proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional organizational skills with a keen eye for detail
- Strong communication abilities, adept at translating financial concepts to non-finance team members
- Ability to thrive in a rapidly growing business, adapting quickly to change
- High level of integrity and discretion when handling sensitive financial information
- Proactive problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset
- Experience in the power generation or related industries is a plus
