Job Description
We’re seeking a skilled bilingual dental receptionist to join our team in a remote capacity. In this role, you’ll be the first point of contact for our patients, managing a high volume of incoming calls during our busiest hours. Your expertise in dental terminology and fluency in both English and Spanish will be essential in providing exceptional service to our diverse patient base. This position offers the unique opportunity to work remotely while utilizing your dental knowledge in a patient-centered environment. You’ll be responsible for efficiently scheduling appointments, answering patient inquiries, and ensuring a smooth flow of communication between patients and our in-house staff.
Responsibilities
- Answer and manage a high volume of incoming calls professionally and efficiently during peak hours (9 AM to 2 PM, Monday through Thursday)
- Schedule patient appointments accurately using Open Dental practice management software
- Provide clear and concise information about dental services and procedures to callers
- Effectively communicate with both English and Spanish-speaking patients, ensuring all patients receive equal attention and care
- Triage calls and transfer complex inquiries or financial questions to appropriate in-house staff members
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA compliance standards at all times
- Participate in initial and ongoing training to stay updated on practice-specific protocols and software systems
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of the practice by managing call flow and reducing wait times for patients
Requirements
- Fluency in both English and Spanish (written and verbal) is essential
- Previous experience in a dental office setting, preferably as a receptionist or dental assistant
- Strong familiarity with dental terminology and basic dental procedures
- Experience with dental practice management software, preferably Open Dental
- Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage high call volumes and multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and high accuracy in scheduling appointments
- Proficiency in remote work tools and ability to work independently
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a quiet, professional home office space
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and patient needs
- HIPAA compliance training or willingness to complete upon hiring
