Job Description
We’re seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Assistant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you’ll be at the heart of our financial operations, managing crucial day-to-day tasks and contributing to our month-end processes. You’ll leverage your expertise in Xero and QuickBooks to ensure our financial records are accurate and up-to-date. Responsibilities
- Manage comprehensive bookkeeping tasks using Xero and QuickBooks, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial records
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, maintaining strong relationships with vendors and clients
- Assist in payroll operations and execute batch lodgments with precision and attention to detail
- Prepare and analyze month-end financial reports, including trial balances and balance sheets, providing insights for management decision-making
- Conduct thorough month-end journal entries and reconciliations, ensuring all financial data is properly recorded and balanced
- Handle professional email communications and occasional outbound calls, representing the company with utmost professionalism
- Collaborate effectively with team members using Microsoft Teams, fostering a culture of open communication and teamwork
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance financial efficiency and accuracy
- Perform additional administrative tasks related to financial operations as needed, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach
Requirements
- Proven track record with a minimum of 3 years of experience in bookkeeping or a similar financial role, preferably in a manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment
- Advanced proficiency in Xero and QuickBooks, with the ability to navigate complex financial software systems
- Comprehensive knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes, including relevant regulatory requirements
- Demonstrated expertise in month-end closing procedures and financial reporting, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain financial concepts clearly to non-finance team members
- Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with VoIP systems for handling occasional phone calls and virtual collaboration tools
- Adaptability to remote work environments and a commitment to maintaining high standards of work quality and productivity
- Discretion and professionalism in handling confidential financial information
- Proactive mindset with a passion for continuous learning and staying updated on financial best practices and regulations
